This is a strong, sturdy machine (no plastic). Directions for loosening or tightening tension are clear. Bobbins easy to refill. Nice bright light helps keep the eyes on the stitching. I really enjoy all the room that I have in the neck and I love the two side extensions. My learning curve was modulating the movement of fabric and keeping the stitches consistent. The bobbins are metal and easy to put in and take out of the bobbin case. They are easy to see if you drop it on the floor/carpet. They are easier to handle than the smaller plastic ones. Since I'm now able to do free motion quilting myself, I can quilt the quilts made for vets, social workers for displaced children, victims of accidents, women and children's shelters, etc. that our guilting guild makes. We've taken a break to make face masks for hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
