Age: 7-17
This class is perfect for kids who are interested in learning the art of patchwork quilting. In this beginner-level course, children will explore the fundamentals of patchwork quilting, including selecting fabrics and piecing together a simple quilt block. Through fun and engaging hands-on activities, young quilters will develop their creativity, concentration, and fine motor skills. By the end of the class, each participant will have completed their very own patchwork quilt to take home. Children must have taken Beginner Sewing or have the ability to thread their machine and wind a bobbin without assistance.
Supply List:
- Machine in good working order with power cord and foot pedal
- Bagged lunch
- ¼’’ presser foot
- pins or clips
- small scissors
- size 11 needles
- neutral colored thread (white, gray, beige)
- 1 yard of backing material. Can be cotton or flannel. Squares for quilt will be provided in varying colors that the children will pick during class.
- Matching colored thread to backing of quilt.
- 1 yard batting. Finished quilt will be approximately 36’’ x 36’’.
Class Cancellation Policy
To reserve a seat, all Pocono Sew & Vac classes must be paid in full upon registration. In the event that a student needs to cancel their reservation for a class, they should notify PS&V at least 7 days in advance (by phone) to be eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before class will not be issued a refund.
If a class does not have the minimum number of participants 7 days prior to class day, the teacher will cancel class. The customer will be fully refunded within 7 to 10 business days. Any questions call PS&V at 800-442-8227.
Some classes require homework to be done before class, such as cutting/prepping fabrics. If homework is required, it will be posted in the class description. Please read the class description thoroughly before signing up before a class. If homework is not done by the start of class, you will not be able to attend, and a refund will not be issued.
