Skill Level: This project is fun for all skill levels!
Join The Kackling Kousins this fall to create a Cathedral Window Table Mat. No experience is required and no hand-sewing is involved. The Cathedral Window is a timeless pattern that will look stunning on any table. This is a quilt-as-you-go project using precut 5” squares (aka charm packs). No preparation is required, just bring your supplies as listed below. You should be able to complete most of this project in class, including the machine quilting.
Supply List:
- Sewing Machine (in good working condition, with a new needle, power cord, foot pedal and manual.
- Variety of thread colors to match/contrast with your quilt top. You can use regular sewing cotton, or you can experiment with some fun threads.
- Quilting gloves
- Large flat sewing surface/tray, if you have one.
- Personal pressing station (optional but helpful)
- Walking foot or dual feed foot
- Scissors and rotary cutter
- Safety Pins for basting
- Straight pins
- Marking tools (we like chalk and water-soluble markers)
- Small 6” ruler
- Fabric glue stick
Prepare for class:
- 1 charm pack of 5” print squares (or cut your own from your stash)
- ¾ yards of background fabric: cut into 32 5” background squares
- ¼ yard of cotton fabric for binding
- ¾ yard of cotton fabric for backing
- 31” x 22” batting rectangle

Class Cancellation Policy
To reserve a seat, all Pocono Sew & Vac classes must be paid in full upon registration. In the event that a student needs to cancel their reservation for a class, they should notify PS&V at least 7 days in advance (by phone) to be eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before class will not be issued a refund.
If a class does not have the minimum number of participants 7 days prior to class day, the teacher will cancel class. The customer will be fully refunded within 7 to 10 business days. Any questions call PS&V at 800-442-8227.
Some classes require homework to be done before class, such as cutting/prepping fabrics. If homework is required, it will be posted in the class description. Please read the class description thoroughly before signing up before a class. If homework is not done by the start of class, you will not be able to attend, and a refund will not be issued.
