Twin needles have two numbers in the size of the needle. The two numbers indicate the space between the tips and the size of the needles. Example, a size 4.0/80 uses two size 80 needles that are spaced 4mm apart and a size 2.0/75 needles is two size 75 needles spaced 2mm apart. A size 8.0/100 can only be used in straight stitch function on a 9mm machine. A size 3.0/90 cannot be used on a 5mm machines in full zig-zag width.
When using twin needles, always use a zig-zag needle plate with the elongated aperture. When using decorative stitches, the stitch width must not exceed the aperture , otherwise the needles will touch the needle plate and break. Try this out by doing the first stitches by moving the hand wheel manually. Additionally, the needle thread tension should be loosened when using Twin Needles.
