It is fair to say that I am clean-freak. I grew up in a household with a German mother and us children were not allowed to eat in the living or dining room. Spotless was just normal. I trust that you get the message.

I have bought a whole succession of vacuums over my 60 years and since we have a Hoover Sentria that weighs so much my wife won’t use it, the vacuuming has usually fallen to me. We have had an Oreck, I tried a Shark (I even sold Electrolux vacuums door-to-door for a time after I graduated college). I have had a lot of other brands of vacuums that I just can’t remember.

I have back issues and we just needed something lighter. Recently we have had a few stick vacuums. The Dirt Devil stick vacuum we bought the day after Thanksgiving 2016 failed in the first few weeks, and now yet again [Target replaced it the first time, but refused to do so a second time since the original purchase was more than 90 days ago]. Target has refused to honor the 3-year warranty that came with the Dirt Devil saying that I must somehow figure out how to ship a $90 vacuum - at a cost of about $25 to an unspecified service center - [Target would not help provide me with Dirt Devil service center location information, even though they suggest they do Dirt Devil sales and service support] and their own return policies. I left the Dirt Devil Stick vacuum at Target for them to dispose of - so no more shopping at Target for me.

Yesterday our new Dyson canister multi-floor ball vacuum arrived. Mind you my sister-in-law was coming for a visit and she likes to sit on the floor so I got out the Hoover and gave the carpet and rugs a good cleaning the day before. We have two small dogs so dog hair is not just an issue, it is sometimes a condiment in our house.

I put the new Dyson machine together in just minutes (easy and clear directions), and gave the same areas I had cleaned the day before another cleaning. After just a minute or two it became apparent that I was using the best vacuum that I have ever owned. Vacuuming is not one of my favorite pass times, but I spent the next 2 & 1/2 hours re-cleaning my house. Area rugs and runners that have always been a “dog-hair" issue came out looking new. I emptied the new Dyson 5 times with equal measures of disgust and delight. This machine slides so easily under our couches that those areas got the the first good cleaning since last fall when we moved everything for the annual shampoo job the carpets and couches get (the reason I keep the Hoover around is it does a good job on carpet cleaning.)

I was not solicited to write this testimonial and do not expect anything in return. I trusted some things that I read on the internet regarding the quality of this Dyson multi-floor canister ball vacuum, and I am pleased to say that my expectations have been exceeded. This is easily the best money that I have ever spent on a vacuum cleaner. Yes, you do get what you pay for, and I have learned my lesson about cheap imitations (and where not to buy vacuum cleaners). My physical therapy doctor is going to see this note too as anyone can easily carry this (nine pounds I believe) vacuum around even though it rolls behind you with a hose making the two-handed exercise of vacuuming recommended in my physical therapy training pointless.

Thank you to the folks at Pocono Sew & Vac where I bought this wonderful device!

"Took my sewing machine in to be looked at today to Pocono Sew & Vac Since 1979. What a great place! Marilyn C. was wonderful. Took so much time to not only show me a new machine, but teach me how to work it. They took my old machine as a trade in and I got a brand new machine! What a surprise. Got a great deal and lots of help. I highly recommend Pocono Sew & Vac. Thanks Marilyn!"

"Thanks so much to the people at Pocono Sew & Vac...after years of having my machines serviced somewhere else, I know now what "service" means...I picked up one of my machines (Ruby) yesterday and they were so polite, friendly and helpful...the guys showed me a trick on my Designer 1 which I never knew about, plus Mark carried my machine to my car which I was SO grateful for...I think this has become my favorite place to visit now! Thanks so much everyone!"

"I purchased a lamp from Pocono Sew & Vac about 3 months ago. It is a Daylight Lamp with a flexible swan like neck. It provided me with a superior quality of light minus any shadow until it didn't. I contacted Mark at Pocono Sew & Vac and was amazed at the kind of reception my problem lamp received. I was given simple and easy instructions as to what was necessary to secure a replacement lamp...just like that. I did as instructed and am awaiting my replacement lamp. The replacement request became a pleasant situation that could have been otherwise. My customer service from Pocono Sew & Vac is probably the best I have ever experienced. If you live close to them, lucky you. When making a purchase that can be made at Pocono Sew & Vac I will do so without hesitation. Excellent, excellent people with whom to do business. I took a chance buying from them on line and discovered a company that far exceeded any expectations of which I might have hoped. DO NOT HESITATE TO DO BUSINESS WITH POCONO SEW & VAC."
